Key to getting the most power out of any turbocharged vehicle is to make a free flowing exhaust system to get rid of the burnt exhaust gas. The first in most client's wish lists is the cat-back exhaust for their car, and with 8 years of experience and Perrin understands what it takes to make a successful exhaust.
Like Perrin's other exhausts, the EVO 10 cat back is built with 3 304 Stainless Steel tubing, which passes through a stainless steel muffler and ends with a dual 4 tips. This catback exhaust has the STEALTH BLACK finish. (We also offer the POLISHED System for those want to show off. - Search our store for the polished system.) The sound is mellow and smooth. Loud enough for you to know its working, but not loud enough to raise suspicion. No droning at free way speeds either.
Another great feature of the PERRIN catback is the weight savings! The OEM CBE weighs 43.5lbs and the PERRIN catback weighs 27.4lbs. That is a huge savings of more than 16lbs!!
DYNO TIME We saw 20WHP in some parts of the RPM band, and a pretty good average of about 10WHP. One really cool thing, as they expected, was the turbo spooling a little quicker. This made for about 50ft-lbs of torque gained at 3000RPM. The attached graph shows Perrin's Stage 1 ECU flash with nothing changed but the catback exhaust.
Next, they left the PERRIN Catback on along with Perrin's Stage 1 flash and as quick as they could they bolted on the 3" downpipe with 3" high flow cat pipe. The most interesting thing is peak power didn't change much nor did peak torque. But the power was much more smoothed out, and much broader power gains were had. Meaning, they still got 20WHP, but as you can see, the area of 15-20WHP gained was much larger. The graph shows Stage 1 with no exhaust versus Stage 1 with both PERRIN catback and Downpipe.
Perrin's cat-back is a simple bolt on system that requires nothing more than simple hand tools to install. No need to trim the bumper, bend a bracket, or anything. Literally unbolt the OEM system and bolt the PERRIN one in its place.
