Why go with a cheap imported imitation when you can have the original? Perrin's uppipe matches the OEM exhaust manifold outlet and OEM turbo inlet. This creates a smoother free flowing exhaust path to the turbo. In turn, this reduces spool up time.
A benefit to installing a PERRIN uppipe on an 02-05 WRX is that is protects turbo from damage when the OEM EGT probe breaks off. On these years of cars, Subaru installed an EGT probe into the stock uppipe. On heavily modded cars this can break off and destroy the turbo! Perrin's Up-Pipe removes this sensor all together. The sensor is perfectly ok to remove as it is not controlling any other aspect of the car. Included with each uppipe is instructions on how to defeat this turbo killing feature of the OEM pipe!
